Marblehead and Folk Art with Christopher Gurshin

Christopher Gurshin, is an exceptionally talented, self-taught artist, whose upbringing in beautiful Marblehead greatly influenced him to capture it all through drawings and paintings in an original Old New England folk art style. 2017, now marks his 51st year as an accomplished artist. Throughout this time he has created wonderful paintings on canvas , old tins, furniture and wood pieces of his own design, as well on unique antique finds.He has created exquisite traditional and primitive wall murals as well as drawings of historic Newburyport and Marblehead. His work has been commissioned by the White House, museums and collectors all over the United States . He presently resides at his home /gallery in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
Join us on May 25 at the Marblehead Museum as Christopher Gurshin talks about Marblehead and it’s influence on his career as a folk artist. Chris will bring several examples of his work and describe what makes his style so remarkable.
